Privacy Policy

1. Scope and who we are

This policy explains how Syailatech, the developer of Quizsona, handles information in the Quizsona mobile app. In this policy, “Quizsona,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Syailatech in its role as developer and operator of the app.

Quizsona is a personality and astrology entertainment app. It is designed so that core experiences can be used as a guest. Creating an account with Google is optional and is used for sign-in and derived-profile sync.

2. Information we handle

Guest and on-device use

Most Quizsona features can be used without an account. Raw quiz answers, exact birth date, birth time, birth city, and birth coordinates remain on your device. Quizsona does not upload those items as part of account sync.

Optional sign-in information

If you choose to sign in with Google, we process:

• Your email address.
• A Supabase user ID used to operate your account.
• Basic sign-in provider information made available by Google, such as the provider name and basic profile fields, if supplied.

Optional profile sync

If you choose to sync, Quizsona uploads derived Type Lab results; derived Sun, Moon, and Rising placements, including their calculated position and certainty; and the result or model version metadata needed to interpret them. Profile sync does not upload raw answers, exact birth date, birth time, birth city, coordinates, or time zone.

Private same-device comparisons

The first public release lets two people compare limited, derived profile information privately on one device. The comparison, aliases, and comparison result stay on that device and are not uploaded. Remote invitations and cross-device comparisons are not available in this release.

Anonymous Room analytics

Quizsona sends a narrow allowlist of gameplay taxonomy for Room analytics. These events do not include an account ID, device ID, advertising ID, session ID, raw answer, exact profile data, or free-form text. The server adds a receipt time so retention can be enforced.

Rate-limit protection

To protect public endpoints from abuse, the service can place a keyed hash derived from an IP address into a temporary rate bucket. The bucket is used to enforce request limits, not to build a user profile.

3. How we use information

We use information only as needed to:

• Authenticate accounts and keep signed-in sessions working.
• Sync the derived results you choose to save.
• Generate a private comparison locally when both people choose to participate on the same device.
• Understand Room completion and gameplay patterns using anonymous, allowlisted events.
• Protect the app and its services from abuse, fraud, and technical failures.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you request, your choices for optional features, our legitimate interests in security and anonymous product improvement, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Service providers and sharing

We use a limited set of providers to operate and distribute Quizsona:

• Google OAuth supports Google sign-in when you choose it.
• Supabase provides authentication, database, and server function infrastructure.
• Expo and EAS support app building and release infrastructure.
• Google Play distributes the Android app.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal information or share Quizsona app data with advertising networks for targeted advertising.

5. How long we keep information

Account and synced profile data

Account information and synced derived results are kept while your account is active or while reasonably needed to provide the service. They are deleted when a verified account-deletion request is completed, subject to limited legal, security, and backup exceptions.

Private same-device comparisons

Comparison inputs and results remain on the device until you remove them using Quizsona’s in-app controls, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app.

Room analytics and rate buckets

• Anonymous Room analytics are retained for 90 days from the server receipt time.
• Automated cleanup can take up to approximately 24 additional hours to finish.
• Hashed IP rate buckets are retained for no more than 48 hours.

On-device data

Local data remains on your device until you remove it using Quizsona’s in-app data controls, clear the app’s storage in your device settings, or uninstall the app.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data.

• You can use Quizsona as a guest and choose not to create an account.
• You can choose whether to sync derived profile results.
• You can choose whether to create a private same-device comparison and can clear its local data.
• You can request account deletion in the app or through our public deletion process.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, scoped server credentials, consent checks, data minimization, and retention limits. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Never send us your password, Google credentials, recovery codes, Supabase credentials, or other authentication secret.

8. International processing

Quizsona and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy laws can differ across jurisdictions. Where required, we use contractual or other recognized safeguards for international processing.

9. Children and age

Quizsona is intended only for people aged 18 and older. If you are under 18, do not use the app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Quizsona changes. We will change the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice in the app when required by law.
